UzAuto Motors has begun manufacturing the "updated" edition of Chevrolet Cobalt - "Midnight", at its automotive plant in Asaka. The company announced that while this "new model’s" release date will be provided later, production has already started alongside existing Cobalt versions.
The Midnight edition introduces several exterior updates, featuring dark-toned lighting and wheel designs. Interior enhancements are also planned for future versions. Priced at 155,231,000 UZS, the Cobalt GX Midnight AT is 7.3 million UZS more expensive than the standard models.
Other variants of the Cobalt sedan will continue to be available at current prices. Currently, the GX-Optima AT Plus costs 146,455,000 UZS, and the GX-Style AT Plus is listed at 147,916,000 UZS.
Unveiled in mid-October, the Midnight edition’s concept was based on extensive consumer research. UzAuto Motors' marketing team studied preferences in both local and foreign markets to craft the new model. According to company data, UzAuto Motors produced 117,700 Cobalt vehicles in the first nine months of 2024 — a 1.5-fold increase compared to the same period last year.
The Chevrolet Cobalt, along with other popular models like the Damas, remains a staple among Uzbeks. KPMG reported that in 2023, "people's cars," including the Cobalt, accounted for over half of all vehicle sales in Uzbekistan.
