Secondary car market prices declined in January

Experts from the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies analyzed car prices in the secondary market for January 2025, revealing a decrease in the prices of popular local cars compared to December 2024.

The results of the analysis are as follows:

Onix: Low-mileage – down by 2.4% (from $14,350 to $14,000); High-mileage – down by 1.5% (from $13,000 to $12,800).

Lacetti: Low-mileage – down by 0.7% (from $15,000 to $14,900); Average-mileage – down by 1.4% (from $14,500 to $14,300); High-mileage – down by 1.7% (from $13,327 to $13,095).

Cobalt: Low-mileage – down by 1.4% (from $12,901 to $12,725); Average-mileage – down by 2.4% (from $12,300 to $12,000); High-mileage – down by 1.7% (from $11,700 to $11,500).

Nexia: Average-mileage – down by 1.8% (from $11,400 to $11,200); High-mileage – down by 0.3% (from $10,500 to $10,465).

Spark: Average-mileage – down by 1% (from $10,300 to $10,200); High-mileage – down by 1.1% (from $9,300 to $9,200).

Damas: Low-mileage – down by 0.5% (from $8,135 to $8,098); Average-mileage – down by 1.4% (from $8,000 to $7,886); High-mileage – down by 4.1% (from $7,300 to $7,000).

While low-mileage Equinox and Malibu cars saw price increases, the prices of average and high-mileage models continued to decline. Specifically:

Malibu: Average-mileage – down by 2.1% (from $29,100 to $28,500); High-mileage – down by 1.6% (from $25,000 to $24,600); Low-mileage – up by 1.2% (from $29,650 to $30,000).

Equinox: Average-mileage – down by 1.6% (from $30,500 to $30,000); High-mileage – unchanged at $26,500; Low-mileage – up by 0.9% (from $34,000 to $34,308).

Tracker: Low-mileage – down by 1.6% (from $18,700 to $18,403); Average-mileage – down by 2.3% (from $17,700 to $17,300); High-mileage – down by 2.9% (from $17,000 to $16,500).

During this period, the prices of high-mileage BYD E2 ($15,250) and Yuan Up ($20,000) electric vehicles remained unchanged, while other electric vehicles experienced price reductions:

BYD E2: New – down by 1.8% (from $17,100 to $16,800); Average-mileage – down by 2.9% (from $15,970 to $15,500).

BYD Han: New – down by 0.9% (from $32,500 to $32,200); High-mileage – down by 2.9% (from $31,750 to $31,250).

BYD Song Plus DM-i Champion: New – down by 0.3% (from $29,100 to $29,000); Average-mileage – down by 1.1% (from $27,200 to $26,900); High-mileage – down by 2.8% (from $24,999 to $24,300).

BYD Song Plus EV Champion: New – down by 1.4% (from $28,500 to $28,090); Average-mileage – down by 3.6% (from $26,600 to $25,650); High-mileage – down by 2.9% (from $24,050 to $23,350).

Foreign car prices:

Elantra: Average-mileage – down by 2.3% (from $21,500 to $21,000); High-mileage – down by 4.8% (from $21,000 to $19,995).

Tucson: Low-mileage – down by 1.5% (from $33,500 to $33,000); Average-mileage – down by 0.8% (from $31,750 to $31,500); High-mileage – down by 2% (from $25,500 to $25,000).

Sportage: Low-mileage – down by 1.4% (from $29,000 to $28,600); Average-mileage – down by 1.8% (from $27,500 to $27,000).

Seltos: High-mileage – down by 2.1% (from $23,500 to $23,000).
