In a statement shared on his official Telegram channel, Minister Saidov described the meeting as productive, emphasizing the commitment to ensuring favorable conditions for the success of the mission. "We had a fruitful discussion with Douglas Wake, head of the ODIHR Election Observation Mission in Uzbekistan. All necessary conditions have been created for the mission to work effectively. We also exchanged views on the ongoing reforms in our country, the steps being taken to improve the living standards of our people, and the strengthening of our cooperation," the minister stated.
The meeting took place ahead of Uzbekistan’s parliamentary election, which is scheduled for October 27. The elections will determine the composition of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis (Parliament) and local councils, as decided by Uzbekistan’s Central Election Commission.
