Uzbekistan appoints its first ambassador to Bahrain
Nodirjon Turgunov, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has been appointed as the country’s first Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Ambassador Turgunov, who will reside in Riyadh, presented copies of his credentials to Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. The credential ceremony was held virtually, according to the Dunyo news agency.
During the meeting, the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Bahrain were discussed, alongside key issues on the international agenda. Both sides expressed their willingness to strengthen and expand relations across all areas.
For context, Turgunov was appointed as Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia in March of last year and was accredited as the country’s Permanent Representative to the OIC in November of the same year.
