Tashkent sets paid parking tariffs to regulate traffic flow

The newly approved regulations outline that the paid parking spaces will be available for public use and will not be subject to reservations. Special provisions have been made for people with disabilities, veterans of World War II, and vehicles used by emergency and special services. At least 5% of the parking spots will be reserved for these groups at no charge.

To support the project, both local and foreign investors are welcome to participate. Property owners in Tashkent can approach the operator EAIS "Paid Parking" under the joint-stock company "Tashkent Invest Company" to organize parking facilities. The operator, in collaboration with interested parties, will determine the parking zones and operating conditions.

The approved parking tariffs are based on zones within the city, with rates set as follows:

•  Zone 1: 12,000 UZS per hour
•  Zone 2: 10,000 UZS per hour
•  Zone 3: 8,000 UZS per hour
•  Zone 4: 6,000 UZS per hour
•  Zone 5: 5,000 UZS per hour

It was also emphasized that the parking facilities are not meant for long-term vehicle storage. Responsibility for the safety and security of vehicles, including risks of theft or damage by third parties, remains with the vehicle owners.

This decision follows plans initiated in November 2022, when paid parking spaces were slated to be introduced on 10 central streets of Tashkent, providing 2,251 parking spots and 57 parking meters.
