Jasur Choriev, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Transport, met with a delegation from Hyundai Rotem led by the head of the company's Global Rail Group. The two sides discussed the potential localization of electric train manufacturing in Uzbekistan as part of a broader effort to modernize the country’s railway system.

The talks focused on a proposal to localize the production of electric trains currently used by Korail, South Korea's national railway operator. These trains would be manufactured at the Tashkent Passenger Car Construction and Repair Plant. A detailed presentation on the technical specifications of the proposed electric trains was also provided during the meeting.

At the conclusion of the discussions, both parties agreed to explore additional opportunities, analyze the proposals, and conduct site visits to identify potential production locations.
