In 325 schools in Tashkent, 48,223 first-graders began their studies on September 4, the city administration reports.
In total, 501,207 children study in the capital's schools.
Over the past year, the number of students in Tashkent schools has increased by 1.7%, rising from 493 to 501 thousand people.
