The production of Hyundai cars has started at the Asaka Motors plant in the Syrdarya region, according to the press service of the regional administration.

The owner of the enterprise, Asaka Motors International, has signed a long-term partnership agreement with the Korean car manufacturer. Sales, technical service, and the development of the dealership network will be handled by Kazakhstan’s Astana Motors.

Currently, six models are being produced at the plant. These include the Elantra and Sonata sedans, the Palisade, Santa Fe, and Tucson crossovers, and the Staria minivan.

By the end of the year, Asaka Motors intends to complete the welding, painting, and advanced assembly processes. The company aims to localize the production of components for Hyundai vehicles.

A special cluster will be established near the plant to produce these parts, which will reduce delivery times and associated costs.

The agreement between Hyundai Motor Company and Asaka Motors was announced in April this year. According to the Syrdarya region administration, the launch was initially planned for May.
