During the visit, negotiations were held with the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Oblast, Alexey Teksler, at which issues of expanding bilateral cooperation in the fields of industry, tourism and education were discussed.
Alexey Teksler emphasized that thanks to the reliable strategic dialogue between the leaders of Russia and Uzbekistan, relations between the two countries demonstrate stability and are actively developing. It was emphasized that the Chelyabinsk Oblast ranks second after Moscow in terms of the volume of imports of non-raw material and non-energy resources from Uzbekistan among all regions of Russia. It was also noted that there are more than nine thousand industrial enterprises in the Southern Urals, the automotive industry is dynamically developing in the region, and the Chelyabinsk region is a leader in the production of agricultural products.
The governor proposed intensifying cooperation in the light industry, in particular in the production of fabrics and accessories.
Particular attention was paid to the development of cooperation in the field of tourism. In particular, an exchange of views took place on the possibility of opening direct flights between Chelyabinsk and Samarkand.
The parties agreed to sign an agreement on interregional cooperation.
In addition, meetings were organized in B2B format with the aim of establishing cooperative relations between Samarkand entrepreneurs and local businessmen. As a result of the negotiations, a number of agreements were signed aimed at developing bilateral trade and economic partnership.
