Corpses of two children found in a canal in Samarkand, their mother’s search ongoing
There were reports on social networks that the woman jumped into the canal with her children.

A woman with two children, living in Samarkand, disappeared. A day later, the corpses of the children were found in the Dargom canal. The search is currently being conducted.
The PGO press secretary Khayot Shamsutdinov informed Kun.uz that on April 15, 2024, a citizen living in the Urgut district applied to the DIA with a statement that his daughter-in-law, living in Samarkand, left the house with two children in an unknown direction.
On April 16, 2024, the bodies of a 4-year-old girl and a one-year-old boy were discovered on the site of the Dargom canal flowing through the territory of the Taylak district.
At present, an effort to search for a 24-year-old woman is being made in conjunction with regional ED, DIA and other departments.
It is noted that on April 16, 2024, the prosecutor’s office of Taylak district opened a criminal case under paragraph “a” of Article 97-2 of the Criminal Code (intentional homicide of two or more persons).
Earlier, in 2022, a 26-year-old woman, who was quarreling with her mother-in-law, jumped into the Dargom canal along with three children. Workers of a café, who were at the canal, saved the woman and one of her children, two other minors died.
