Uzbekistan’s potential of pharmaceutical industry presented in Delhi

The event, organized jointly with the Global India Business Forum Foundation, was attended by representatives of more than 30 Indian pharmaceutical companies.

Ambassador Sardor Rustamboyev spoke about the results of large-scale reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years, the created attractive environment for international cooperation in various fields, including pharmaceuticals, and successful projects of cooperation between businessmen of the two countries in this industry.

Director of the Agency for Development of Pharmaceutical Industry under the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan Abdulla Azizov drew the attention of Indian entrepreneurs to the significant potential of the pharmaceutical sector of our country and promising areas for the implementation of joint projects. Detailed information was presented about the favorable opportunities provided in pharmaceutical clusters and free economic zones, government efforts to support the production of modern products and their export, and other important aspects of interaction.

Videos about the economic potential of Uzbekistan and the conditions created for organizing activities in the pharmaceutical field enriched the understanding of our country among the event participants.

During the live dialogue that took place as part of the presentation, Indian businessmen received answers to their questions regarding the creation of new manufacturing enterprises, legal protection of business activities, benefits and preferences provided to foreign investors.

“Thanks to today’s event, our understanding of the essence and significance of the ongoing process of change and renewal in Uzbekistan has become even richer. Representatives of the country’s pharmaceutical industry touched upon all issues of mutually beneficial cooperation and called on investors to be more active,” Devi Prasad Mishra, head of the Delhi division of the Global India Business Forum Foundation, said.

During B2B negotiations between the leadership of the Agency for Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan and representatives of leading Indian companies, special attention was paid to new cooperation projects, including the production of high-quality and affordable pharmaceutical products.

“We had a fruitful dialogue with members of the delegation of Uzbekistan. A lot of information was presented regarding our further investments in Uzbekistan. We, as a manufacturer of finished products, are interested in investing in the country,” Adil Muhammad Khan, Marketing Director of Avantika Medex, noted.

Members of the delegation of Uzbekistan held negotiations with the Deputy Minister of Chemical Industry and Fertilizers of India, Head of the Department of Pharmaceuticals Arunish Chawla and discussed the prospects for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation. The parties exchanged views on the possibilities of further intensifying relations in this area.
