A video circulated on social networks in which drivers of a wedding convoy in the Kegeyli district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan tried to get to the bride’s house, simultaneously ramming each other’s cars. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Karakalpakstan responded to the situation.
Allegedly, on June 12 of this year, a wedding took place in the Kegeyli district. The groom, citizen A.N., born in 2002, left Nukus for the wedding in a Mercedes car. As part of the wedding cortege, 9 cars departed from Nukus for the Kegeyli district.
Before the start of the trip, citizen A.N. promised $200 to the driver who would be the first to follow the car in which he himself was traveling. When the wedding cortege arrived in the Kegeyli district, car drivers, deliberately violating traffic rules and rules of behavior in society, collided with each other, chasing the groom’s Mercedes along Nurli Kuyosh Street.
During the investigation, no injured citizens were identified. 9 cars participating in the motorcade were placed in a penalty area, and administrative protocols were drawn up against the drivers under Article 183 of the Administrative Responsibility Code (Petty hooliganism).
