Promising areas of cooperation between think tanks of Uzbekistan and RUSI were discussed.
The British side was informed about the activities of research institutes in Uzbekistan, their role in shaping the country’s domestic and foreign policy.
Karin von Hippel expressed interest in interacting with the expert community of Uzbekistan, including establishing cooperation with new “think tanks” of the republic and intensifying contacts with partner institutions. According to her, the emerging new geopolitical reality in Central Asia, coupled with the dynamic processes in Uzbekistan, determines the special attention of British scientific and academic circles to the ongoing changes in the region.
It was noted that RUSI provides various UK departments with findings, forecasts and recommendations on a wide range of international policy issues. He is actively involved in organizing conferences, seminars and other international forums with the participation of high-ranking politicians from the UK and other countries.
Taking this into account, agreements were reached to hold meetings in various formats, exchange experiences and conduct joint events and research on issues of mutual interest.
RUSI was created in 1831 and is the oldest and one of the most authoritative “think tanks” in the world on international and military-political issues. The patron of RUSI is the king.
