It has been reported that this year marks the fifth anniversary of the "Samarkand Marathon" series of international charitable running competitions. To commemorate this, the "Zamin Ultra 2024" international ultramarathon will take place on June 1-2 of this year.
The event will be held in the Zomin National Nature Park.
The running trail is located at an elevation of 2200-2500 meters above sea level, which is equivalent to stacking six Tashkent TV towers on top of each other.
"This year, we celebrate the fifth anniversary of the international charitable running competitions within the 'Samarkand Marathon' series. Since its foundation, we have promoted our events as a celebration dedicated to sports, culture, and arts that brings together participants from all over the world in Uzbekistan. We are constantly working to develop the entire series, making the events more extensive and more interesting and continuously striving to attract a new layer of participants, including youth from all regions of the republic," says Gayane Umerova, head of the Uzbekistan Foundation for the Development of Culture and Art.
Race Distances:
50K – The highest point of the running trail reaches an altitude of 2500 meters above sea level, with an elevation gain of 1535 meters.
21K – Half-marathon runners will traverse a total elevation difference of 635 meters along Kattashir, Qizilmozor, and Obikul.
10K – Participants will run up to an observation area that reveals panoramic views along the Qizilmozor mountain river and Chortang pass, with an elevation gain of 370 meters.
2K – The running trail will showcase views of the starting village and the palm-sized appearance of the Kattashir mountain river.
Additionally, a concert program is also planned for the guests and participants of the ultramarathon.
