The Central Bank has updated the US dollar exchange rate against UZS. The new rate is effective from April 23.
According to the trading results, the US dollar rate increased by 21 UZS, reaching a historical maximum of 12,711 UZS.
On Monday, commercial banks purchased the dollar at an exchange rate of 12,640-12,680 UZS. The selling rate varied from 12,730 UZS to 12,750 UZS.
Additionally, the euro rose by 21.22 UZS, reaching 13,526.27 UZS. The Russian ruble increased by 0.36 UZS, amounting to 136.31 UZS.
On the first working day of 2024, January 3, the rate was 12,352.86 UZS. On January 11, the rate crossed the 12,400 UZS mark for the first time, surpassed the 12,500 UZS threshold on February 23, and the 12,600 UZS mark on March 28.
Thus, since the beginning of the year, the rate has risen by nearly 360 UZS.
At the end of 2022, the national currency had depreciated by 3.94 percent, and in 2023 it devalued by 9.7 percent.
