In the Tashkent region, it is planned to demolish several unsuitable buildings. The corresponding decree of the regional governor was published on April 17 in the E-qaror electronic system.

Last month, the regional commission in the field of housing and communal services identified a number of unsuitable objects that will be demolished:

•  one-story extensions to a school located in the Zangiata district;
•  three unsuitable one-story buildings on the school grounds in the Buka district;
•  one one-story building located in a school in the Tashkent region.

According to the governor’s decree, construction materials suitable for use will be officially registered. The territories freed up as a result of demolitions are instructed to be used in an effective manner.

In May 2023, a major operation was carried out to dismantle extensions in the capital’s Ts-1 area. In November of the same year, the city administration announced plans to carry out new demolitions of illegal buildings.

In February, the Tashkent city administration announced another wave of demolition of illegal buildings. In the capital, they want to dismantle catering outlets, artificial barriers and unauthorized fences that interfere with residents.

Among other objects, the summer terrace of the Giotto restaurant on Taras Shevchenko Street was included in the queue for dismantling. The founder of the network, Kemal Kaya, noted that before the opening of the location, questions about the legality of the extension were not raised, and pointed out the opacity of decision-making on demolitions.

Recently, several unauthorized extensions and other structures were dismantled in the Mirabad district of Tashkent.
