A video message from the mother of a teenager beaten by peers at school No. 55 in the Karshi district of the Kashkadarya region has been circulated. It says that a boy born in 2009, on December 19, 2023, received a spinal fracture at school.

“The school director and his deputies did not provide first aid to my son, did not notify the internal affairs authorities and the ambulance. My child was unconscious in the room for several hours,” the appeal says.

The appeal also contains a video from school cameras, in which you can see schoolchildren beating a boy in the hall. The woman said that as soon as she learned of her son’s condition, she picked him up from school and took him to the hospital.

“The school administration ordered not to report the situation to law enforcement agencies. We treated him at a clinic in Samarkand. By order of a representative of the school administration, they wrote in the medical certificate that my son allegedly fell while playing with his friends on the playground. My child is bedridden. The parents and children who beat the boy never asked about his condition,” says the woman.

The Kashkadarya Regional Preschool and School Education Department officially responded to the situation. It is reported that the situation between the students was studied by law enforcement officers.

“By the corresponding order of the head of the Kashkadarya Regional Preschool and School Education Department dated March 19, 2024, the employment contract concluded in accordance with Part 2 of Article 157 of the Labor Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the director of school No. 55 of the Karshi district was terminated,” the official statement says.
