During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the results achieved between the two countries in the field of higher education, as well as on the current state and prospects of cooperation.
It was emphasized that today the total number of documents on mutual cooperation in the field of education has exceeded 40, including branches of the Turin Polytechnic and Pisa Universities in Tashkent, as well as the joint faculty of the University of Campania named after Luigi Vanvitelli, created at the Bukhara State Medical Institute.
Lamberto Moruzzi noted that he personally witnesses the significant results achieved in this direction between the two countries and the work being carried out to further develop relations. He welcomed the significant increase in exchange between higher education institutions in recent years.
“The Ministry of Universities and Research is interested in expanding exchanges in the field of education with Uzbekistan in realizing the strategic goals of the state in the Central Asian region,” Lamberto Moruzzi said.
Within the framework of the Interdepartmental Memorandum of Understanding, issues of Italian financing of projects of Uzbek researchers, exchange of delegations led by heads of ministries of higher education, and a visit to Uzbekistan of a delegation of 10 rectors of leading Italian universities are considered. The prospects for holding an Uzbek-Italian educational forum in Samarkand were discussed.
