Turkish Layki ready to invest $1 million in production of footwear products near Tashkent

The Turkish company Layki intends to invest about $1 million in the production of footwear products in the Tashkent region, the press service of Uzcharmsanoat reports.
On March 11, the chairman of the Uzcharmsanoat association, Fakhriddin Boboyev, discussed with the head of Layki the implementation of a joint investment project with Uzbek enterprises for the production of shoes, soles and glue under the Turkish brand.
Layki plans to launch the production of footwear products in a small industrial zone in the Akhangaran district, specialized in the production of leather, footwear and fur products.
In February, the Uzcharmsanoat association announced plans by the Turkish company Warboots to invest $50 million in the production of military boots on an area of eight hectares in the small industrial zone of Akhangaran.
A leather and footwear cluster with an area of 16 hectares will also be launched in the Tashkent region, which will host 26 projects totaling $30 million.
