U.S. and Uzbekistan strengthen ties in key economic and security areas

During a meeting in Washington, D.C., U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan National Security Council Abdulaziz Kamilov discussed strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

According to a statement from U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, the American side once again reaffirmed its support for Uzbekistan's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Special attention was given to expanding cooperation in key economic sectors, including civilian nuclear energy, the extraction of strategic minerals, and other industries.

Landau praised Tashkent's efforts to develop bilateral investment cooperation. 

The two sides also discussed collaboration in the fight against illegal migration and international terrorism, with the U.S. expressing gratitude to Uzbekistan for its ongoing partnership.
