According to the MFA, the delegations of the parties were headed by Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Rahmatulla Nurimbetov, and Tajikistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sodiq Imomi.
During the talks, the sides discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for interaction within international organizations.
Key areas considered during the meeting were issues of trade and economic collaboration, the development of inter-regional ties, and industrial cooperation. In particular, the necessity of creating industrial-trade zones in border territories, as well as the modernization of border checkpoints to enable simplified movement of goods and people, were highlighted.
The parties also discussed strengthening the legal framework and the schedule of upcoming events at various levels. The meeting also facilitated an exchange of views on issues of regional and international importance.
