The Supreme Court of Uzbekistan is set to review the case of seven citizens who were sentenced to 15 days of detention on charges of disturbing public order following the attempted assassination of Komil Allamjonov.
Defense attorneys have claimed that the charges were fabricated, stating that video recordings and witness testimonies prove the detainees' innocence.
This open session could serve as an important example of protecting citizens' rights in such cases.
It is worth noting that the attempted assassination of Komil Allamjonov sparked widespread public outcry, and Uzbekistan’s law enforcement agencies had promised to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
