Tashkent ranks third among the world's most polluted cities

On February 13, at 14:10, Tashkent city ranked third in the world for air pollution on the IQAir website.

The concentration of fine particulate matter PM-2.5 in the air was 162 µg/m3, which is 32.4 times more than what is recommended by the WHO.

Lahore (Pakistan) and Delhi (India) were listed first and second, respectively.

According to Uzhydromet, on February 13, between 9:00-10:00 AM, the concentration of fine particulate matter PM-2.5 in the atmosphere of Tashkent city was recorded at 56 µg/m3 on "Bodomzor" road in the Yunusabad district and at the People's Friendship square in the Chilanzar district. It was noted that these areas fall into the "unhealthy" category of air pollution according to the AQI – PM 2.5 index.

As of 22:00 on February 11, Tashkent had ranked sixth in the world for air pollution. At that time, the pollution level was assessed at 189, with some areas even exceeding an index of 200.
