In 2023, the production volume of electrical products amounted to 23.8 trillion soums. The head of the press service of Uzeltekhsanoat, Namoz Tolipov, spoke about this at an AIMC briefing.
Enterprises included in the association exported products worth $1 billion to 68 countries, of which the European Union accounted for $55 million. Deliveries of Uzbek electrical equipment began to countries such as the UAE, Great Britain, France, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
Over the past year, more than 85 thousand tons of copper were processed for the production of electrical appliances. As part of the localization program, local manufacturers produced devices worth 2.4 trillion soums, and also received 25 international certificates.
Investments in new and existing projects in the electrical engineering industry amounted to $191.5 million, almost half of which came from foreign investments. 39 new projects worth $163 million were launched, providing jobs for more than 1.9 thousand people.
This year it is planned to increase the production of electrical appliances by 20 percent, and their exports by half, to $1.5 billion. To achieve this, copper processing will be increased to 140 thousand tons.
In the “copper cluster” in the Akhangaran region, it is planned to launch five projects worth $55 million. In addition, a technology park for the production of household appliances will begin operating in the Bukhara region.
By the end of the year, the commissioning of workshops for the production of solar photopanels in Karshi and Nukus is also expected. They will annually produce panels of 250 and 200 MW, respectively.
