At a press conference at the AIMC with the participation of the leadership of the Committee for Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health, it was reported that influenza A (H3N2), known as the Hong Kong flu, is detected by the results of laboratory tests.
Hong Kong influenza is an acute respiratory illness caused by the H3N2 serotype of influenza A virus. This strain of the disease is called H3N2. The mortality rate of the disease is no more than 0.5%.
Influenza A (H3N2) occurs with classic symptoms for this disease, which do not differ from the characteristic symptoms caused by a regular influenza virus. Among them:
- body aches;
- general weakness and drowsiness;
- headaches and dizziness;
- muscle pain;
- high temperature (often above 39 degrees);
- nausea and diarrhea;
- pain, tearing and pain in the eyes;
- sore throat and dry cough.
The department noted that over the past week, the incidence of acute respiratory infections among the population of the republic decreased by 25.5% compared to the previous week, in Tashkent - by 25.4%.
It is noted that the highest incidence rate was registered among children aged 0-1 year, the intensive rate is 368.3 per 100 thousand children of the same age.
“The main reasons for this are the lack of isolation of patients with acute respiratory infections, sending sick children to educational institutions and unauthorized treatment without consulting a doctor,” noted Nurmat Otabekov.
In order to treat patients with influenza and acute respiratory infections, 8,838 hospital beds have been created throughout the republic, where 6,000 patients are currently being treated.
