Lime workshop misappropriated natural gas worth 1 billion soums in Fergana

The press service of the Ministry of Energy reported that the lime production workshop in the Uzbekistan district of Fergana region was illegally connected to the network without a natural gas meter.
During the control event conducted by representatives of the system and employees of the law enforcement body, it was found that the plant was using natural gas illegally, which caused a loss of 1 billion soums to the interests of the state.
According to the ministry, a criminal case has been initiated and investigation is underway.
Earlier, it was reported that in the first 6 months of 2023, electricity worth 78.5 billion soums and natural gas worth 231 billion 866 million soums were embezzled.
