The draft law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2024” was submitted for public discussion. According to the draft law, budget revenues are set at 270.3 trillion soums, and expenditures (not including inter-budgetary transfers) at 279.6 trillion soums. The deficit limit is 52.5 trillion soums or 4 percent of GDP.

The limited amount of the state’s foreign debt to be received in 2023 is $5 billion. Of this, $2.5 billion will be allocated to support the state budget, and $2.5 billion to investment projects. It is planned to issue 25 trillion soums worth of state securities on behalf of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In 2024, the gross domestic product is expected to exceed 1 quadrillion 301 trillion soums (1,301,759 trillion soums). GDP growth is predicted to be 5.6-5.8 percent in 2024, 6.2 percent in 2025, and 6.4 percent in 2026.

According to the document, in 2024, the inflation rate is expected to be around 8-10 percent.
