The results of admission to the master's degree courses of the state HEIs have been announced. According to the results, out of more than 20,000 applicants, 9,074 were rejected due to not having language certificates or other required documents. Only 10,980 applicants advanced to the selection process.

Of these, 6.3 thousand were admitted to master's programs:

• 3,238 applicants – on state grant
• 3,155 applicants – on a tuition fee payment basis

This year, the quota allocated for the master's degree was 17.1 thousand.

About 11,000 of the allotted quotas remained vacant. Last year, a winter admission was organized in such a situation. However, it is not clear whether or not there will be a winter admission this year.

What is known so far?

At the beginning of the summer, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Ibrohim Abdurahmonov said that this year applicants will be admitted to master's degree courses only once (in the summer).

According to the later decision, admission to undergraduate and graduate programs of state, non-state and foreign higher education organizations operating in the republic and their branches will be carried out once per academic year (between June and September). It is stated that, in necessary cases, admission to the master's degree programs of higher education institutions for the second time in one academic year is allowed when the State Commission approves it based on the proposal of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.

A Kun.uz correspondent contacted the press service of the ministry to find out whether the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation has developed a proposal for the second admission this year because the quotas were not filled. It was stated that the results have just been announced, and there is no information on the above issue yet.

However, there is a high possibility of re-admission if more than half of the quota is vacant.

For information: it is not possible to apply for a master's degree in a state higher education institution without a foreign language certificate (at least B2, C1 level for philology). The shortlist for the master's degree is based on the average score of the diploma and the level of the foreign language certificate.
