Uzbekistan imported $107 million worth of mobile phones in H1 2023
The republic imported cell phones mainly from China.
In January-June 2023, Uzbekistan imported 1.55 million mobile phones worth $107.5 million.
The major suppliers of mobile devices to Uzbekistan were China and Vietnam, which accounted for almost 99% of shipments: 1.38 million phones came from China and almost 150 thousand from Vietnam. India delivered 14.2 thousand cell phones, concluding the top-3.
Kazakhstan (2.4 thousand units), Turkiye (1.9 thousand) and Taiwan (1.6 thousand) were also among the notable suppliers.
In 2022, Uzbekistan imported nearly 3 million mobile phones for around $199 million.
Last year, China also became the main supplier, accounting for more than two-thirds of total deliveries. The UAE was in second place with 247.5 thousand smartphones, which did not even make it into the top-5 suppliers in the first six months of 2023. Then came Vietnam (217.9 thousand units) and India (185.5 thousand).
