With the sighting of the new moon, the last month of the Hijri-lunar calendar – the month of Dhul-Hijjah – has begun. The first day of this month falls on Monday, June 19, the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan said.
The month of Dhul-Hijjah is the month in which the Hajj prayer is performed and Eid al-Adha is celebrated. The beginning of the holiday falls on Wednesday, June 28.
We remind you that in the presidential decree on additional days off in 2023, June 30 (Friday) is designated as an additional day off for everyone, and July 1 (Saturday) as an additional day off for those working in a six-day work week. In this case, Eid al-Adha was expected to fall on June 29.
According to information on the Lex.uz site, the decree is currently being amended.
