Hojiakbar Nosirov, the author of the ACTIVIST project, who was imprisoned for 15 days by the court on April 8 for his video about the presence of carmine substance in yogurts, therefore they are forbidden, appeared in public for the first time after serving the administrative prison sentence.

Although the blogger was released on April 23, he did not continue his project, which led to the spread of various rumors on social networks that a criminal case was opened against him and he died.

Khayot Shamsutdinov, the PGO press secretary, said that these rumors are false in response to Kun.uz inquiry.

Hojiakbar Nosirov appeared in public for the first time since he was imprisoned for 15 days through a video message posted on his Instagram page on May 11. In the video, the blogger expressed his gratitude to those who supported him.

“I’m fine, I’m released. As written in many Telegram channels, I have not died, nor have criminal cases been opened against me for fraud and extortion.

Of course, there’s a reason I haven’t talked about my release. So, I hope you understand correctly.

As for what happened, whatever happens, happens for good.

I saw those who supported me, received videos, wrote comments, and generally tried to provide material and moral support, thank you all. To be honest, I was very happy,” the blogger says.

In his video address, he also touched upon the question most frequently asked by his followers – whether he will continue or end his career.

“There is no intention to stop, there is no need to worry about it. I just want to take a little break to clear my mind, re-evaluate my goals and come back stronger. Of course, I will not disappear during the break: I will be with you in stories and posts, and you will see the process yourself,” Hojiakbar Nosirov said.

It should be noted that Hojiakbar Nosirov was imprisoned for 15 days based on the expert opinion of the Committee on Religious Affairs and other evidence. At the court session, the blogger and his defense attorney refused to testify about the situation. When Hojiakbar Nasirov’s lawyer applied for consideration of the case at the appellate court, the blogger’s complaint was dismissed as the reason.

Neither Tashkent city courts, nor the capital’s DIA and prosecutor’s office informed about the release of the ACTIVIST project author. This situation attracted the attention of activists and bloggers.
