Court verdict against criminal group members who dug a secret tunnel leading to Kyrgyzstan in Fergana announced

Earlier, in Fergana, a criminal group was exposed, which dug a secret underground road passing through the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border, and was engaged in the transfer of goods and foreign cash of illegal entrepreneurs through it. According to the SSS press service, the court verdict was announced against the group members.

According to the collected documents, a 33-year-old man from Dangara bought a yard in the “Uzbek-Kyrgyz” border area of Rishtan district, and dug a tunnel 10 meters deep, 2 meters high, 1.2 meters wide, and 128 meters long leading to the territory of Kyrgyzstan. There is a separate elevator for getting in and out of the tunnel. 5 citizens (born between 1984 and 1993) living in this district were hired to dig the underground road.

According to the judgment of the trial panel of the Fergana regional court for criminal proceedings, the members of the criminal group were found guilty under Articles 182 and 223 of the Criminal Code, 3 of them were sentenced to 6 to 7 years of imprisonment, and the other 3 – to correctional work.

Also, 2,707 pieces of mobile phone devices valued at 7 billion 603 million 650 thousand soums, seized as material evidence in the criminal case, were transferred to the state ownership.

It was decided that the house where the tunnel is located will be transferred to the state and the underground road will be buried in the appropriate manner.
