Emergency medical vehicles, which have been in use for more than 8 years, must be replaced. Therefore, “103” service of the Health Ministry is taking steps to gradually replace old cars with modern ones.
The next batch of 117 Volkswagen Caddy cars was presented to the regions by Jizzakh Auto, the press service of the Health Ministry reports.
Accordingly, in the first stage, 230 units of Ford reanimobiles of B-class were delivered for use in the cities of Tashkent and Samarkand at the expense of the ambulance development fund. As a result, by 2022, the number of such modern cars reached 541. When equipping them, special attention was paid to the convenience of doctors and patients.
In the second stage, it is planned to purchase 1,000 units of A-class ambulances, and for this purpose, loan funds were allocated on the basis of the ADB project. It is intended to replace the old Damas cars in the system.
So far, 340 Volkswagen Caddys have been delivered to medical facilities. The distribution of these vehicles is formed based on the population of the regions and the need to update ambulances.
Abduvoit Gafurov, Director of the Republican Emergency Medical Center, informed that another 640 ambulances planned to be purchased will belong to world brands such as Hyundai, Ford, Volkswagen, Iveco.
