Ambulance service received nearly 10 million emergency calls over nine months
Uzbekistan’s emergency medical services received close to 10 million calls in the first nine months of 2024, according to the Ministry of Health. The Republic's Emergency Medical Center reported a total of 9.96 million calls between January and September, with the highest number coming from the Fergana and Andijan regions, and the lowest from Jizzakh, Bukhara, and Khorezm regions.

Abduvoit Gafurov, Director of the Republic's Emergency Medical Center, shared that of the total calls, 7.1 million were categorized as urgent, while 2.5 million involved patients with chronic conditions. Additionally, over 64,000 calls were related to childbirth emergencies.
The regions with the most emergency calls during this period were:
• Fergana region: 1,040,546 calls
• Andijan region: 1,013,131 calls
• Tashkent city: 1,007,327 calls
• Tashkent region: 933,600 calls
• Namangan region: 905,000 calls
In contrast, the regions with the least calls were:
• Navoi region: 296,046 calls
• Syrdarya region: 335,010 calls
• Jizzakh region: 399,342 calls
• Bukhara region: 482,325 calls
• Khorezm region: 489,761 calls
The national ambulance service currently operates with 2,853 medical brigades to meet the demand.
In comparison, the total number of emergency calls in 2023 reached 13.52 million, which was 500,000 more than in 2022. Similar to 2024, the majority of calls came from the Fergana Valley and Tashkent City.
