Last year, individuals purchased foreign currency in the amount of $8.9 billion, which is 1.9 times higher than the figures for the same period in 2021 ($4.6 billion).
In general, the sale of foreign currency by individuals to banks exceeded the purchase by about $3 billion.
“This, in turn, served as an additional source of supply in the domestic foreign exchange market,” the Central Bank said.
Earlier it was reported that over the past year, the volume of money transfers to Uzbekistan increased by 2.1 times, to $16.9 billion.
