Among 180 countries, Uzbekistan ranked 126th with 31 points. The republic climbed 14 lines in the ranking compared to 2021 (140th).
According to the Anti-Corruption Agency of Uzbekistan, the country has recorded growth rates in this index for the last 6 years (from 22 points in 2017 to 31 points in 2022) and is among the countries of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia region that are systematically implementing anti-corruption reforms.
Transparency International noted that the global average remains unchanged for over a decade at just 43 out of 100. More than two-thirds of countries score below 50, while 26 countries have fallen to their lowest scores yet. Despite concerted efforts and hard-won gains by some, 155 countries have made no significant progress against corruption or have declined since 2012.
