The thirty-sixth plenary session of the Senate began its work. The Law “On the State Budget for 2023” was considered.
Kun.uz correspondent who participated in the Senate meeting reported that Finance Minister Temur Ishmetov commented in his report on whether the state budget for 2023 takes into account the reduction of state bodies.
According to Temur Ishmetov, the budget funds freed up due to the reduction of state organizations will be used to address social issues:
“In accordance with the presidential decree, from January 1, 2023, the number of independent executive bodies of the republic was reduced from 61 to 28, including the current 25 ministries to 21. Naturally, the question arises whether these reforms are taken into account in the draft law “On the state budget for 2023”. It should be noted that on the basis of measures to fully establish the activities of the executive authorities of the republic, reorganized to ensure the implementation of this decree, regulatory documents are being prepared that clearly define their structure, tasks and functions. Only after their approval, expenses for the maintenance of the executive authorities of the republic will be specified, as well as amendments and additions to the law in the prescribed manner. At the same time, the budget funds freed up as a result of these reforms will be used to address social issues on the basis of a presidential decree”.
