Uzbekistan increases potato cultivation and its import
In January-October 2022, Uzbekistan imported 404.1 thousand tons of potatoes from 16 countries for $65.9 million.
According to the State Statistics Committee, potato imports increased by 14.7 thousand tons compared to the corresponding period of last year.
During the reporting period, Uzbekistan imported potatoes mainly from the following countries:
— Pakistan - 258.2 thousand tons
— Kazakhstan - 96.3 thousand tons
— Kyrgyz R. - 16.8 thousand tons
— Russia - 15 thousand tons
— The Netherlands - 6.3 thousand tons
— Iran - 5.6 thousand tons
In January-September 2022, 2.6 million tons of potatoes were cultivated in the country, which id more by 6.6% compared to the same period in 2021.
