The Deputy Minister of Energy spoke about the planned procedures for turning off street lighting and advertising illumination at certain hours.
At today’s AIMC briefing, Deputy Minister of Energy Sherzod Khodjayev answered questions regarding the most common cases of waste of electricity. According to the official, most electricity is spent in regional centers and the capital. In this regard, it is planned to introduce a new procedure.
“At a certain hour, there will be a 100% shutdown of all street lights that are shining in vain. It is also planned to completely turn off the electricity used to illuminate advertising at certain hours and deliver the saved energy to remote areas,” Sherzod Khodjayev said.
According to him, the topic of waste is very relevant in regions with uninterrupted power supply. In remote areas, people do not waste it because they appreciate it.
“We have involved all enterprises of the Ministry of Energy in solving the problems of waste and waste of electricity. The most difficult issue for us is the heating of buildings. There are cases when heating is not necessary, but natural gas or electricity is still used for this. We must fight this,” Sherzod Khodjayev said.
