First freight train departs from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan along a new transport corridor
The composition of the cargo, formed in China, included food products, household appliances and products for household needs.

On September 19, a pilot launch of a container train started along the new transit route Kashgar-Osh-Andijan-Galaba-Khayraton (China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Afghanistan), the press service of Uzbekistan Railways reports.
The first train consisting of 12 units of 40-foot containers departed from Uzbekistan along this route.
The cargo included food products, household appliances and products for the needs of the national economy.
The goods were formed into containers by the Chinese side, and at the Osh station (Kyrgyzstan), these containers were loaded onto fitting platforms belonging to Uzbekistan.
According to rough estimates, only in the direction of Afghanistan along this multimodal route, the volume of cargo transportation will be more than 4 thousand containers per year.
It is noted that a 70% discount will apply to the transportation of goods on the territory of Uzbekistan, and up to 50% - on the territory of other countries of the multimodal corridor.
Transportation of goods along this corridor is carried out from the Kashgar railway station in China to the Osh railway station in Kyrgyzstan by road, and from the Osh station through Uzbekistan to the Mazar-i-Sharif station in Afghanistan by rail.
