Uzbekistan may ban keeping predatory and poisonous animals without a certificate from Ecology Committee
The measures are associated with the increased cases of walking wild animals in public places and at various events.

Members of the faction of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan proposed to establish a procedure in which the maintenance of a number of animals will be carried out on the basis of a certificate issued by the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection.
This is provided for by the draft law “On Amendments and Additions to the Law of Uzbekistan “On the Protection and Use of Wildlife”, adopted in the first reading.
In particular, if there is a certificate, it is possible to keep wild animals listed in the Red Book in semi-free conditions, in artificially created habitats or in captivity, as well as predatory and poisonous animals in zoos, terrariums, circuses, oceanariums, dolphinariums, natural nurseries, educational institutions for scientific purposes in special nurseries created in agreement with the Academy of Sciences.
It is noted that in recent years, cases of walking predatory and poisonous wild animals in public places, at weddings, holidays, anniversaries and other family events have become more frequent.
“This situation creates a serious danger to the life and health of people, causes unpleasant situations,” the members of the faction noted.
