New Ambassador of Argentina takes office in Uzbekistan

The meeting began with the ceremony of presenting credentials to Vladimir Norov, who wished him success in his diplomatic mission. 

During the conversation, the current state and prospects for the development of Uzbek-Argentine cooperation were discussed. 

The readiness of the parties to intensify a constructive political dialogue was emphasized. Proposals were considered to expand the legal framework for interaction, develop parliamentary diplomacy, hold inter-MFA consultations, as well as coordinate efforts within international institutions. 

The importance of more efficient use of the potential of cooperation in the trade-economic sphere was noted, including through taking measures to increase the volume of trade, attracting Argentinean capital to the economy of Uzbekistan, concluding an Agreement on the protection of investments and avoiding double taxation, organizing a visit of a delegation of business entities from Argentina to our country.

The Ambassador informed about the interest of Argentinean companies in the implementation of joint projects in Uzbekistan in various fields.

The commitment of Uzbekistan and Argentina to strengthening ties in the cultural-humanitarian field was confirmed. The intention of the parties to study the issues of mutual participation in film festivals and other events, building up partnerships between the universities of the two countries in personnel training, developing contacts in the field of sports, and intensifying tourist exchanges was announced.

Eduardo Antonio Zuain noted that Argentina is following with great interest the implementation of the development strategy of New Uzbekistan and welcomes the transformations carried out in the socio-political, socio-economic and cultural life of the republic. Buenos Aires attaches exceptional importance to the comprehensive expansion of cooperation with Uzbekistan and is ready to take effective measures in this direction.
