Individuals attempt to smuggle $356,000 in cash out of Uzbekistan (video)
Residents of Bekabad agreed to transport the currency to the neighboring republic illegally for a fee.

Employees of the Tashkent regional SSS Department, together with the regional Customs Department and border troops, detained two people who were trying to smuggle a large amount of foreign currency through the āKazarmaā simplified checkpoint in Bekabad.
During a personal search, a 42-year-old resident of Bekabad was found to have $166,000, and her 28-year-old partner ā $190 thousand. A total of $356,000 were seized in a procedural manner.
It turned out that at the request of a citizen of Tajikistan so-called Makhmud, they took foreign currency from unknown people in the city of Bekabad, hid it in their clothes and tried to take it to Tajikistan for a fee.
Currently, a criminal case has been opened on this fact. Measures are being taken to identify the real owners of foreign currency.
