Tashkent hosts a conference with participation of the SCO member states’ heads of healthcare sector

The event was held within the framework of the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the SCO.

Ministers of health of the SCO member states, representatives of the scientific community, leading experts in the field of modern and traditional (folk) medicine, rehabilitation, pharmaceuticals and experimental medicine took part in the forum in a hybrid format.

At the beginning of the event, the participants were welcomed by the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Behzod Musayev, the Minister of Health of Tajikistan Jamoliddin Abdullozoda, the First Deputy Minister of Health of Kazakhstan Marat Shoranov, the representative of India, Dr. Kustubka Upadhyaya and others.

The forum discussed issues of using the potential of traditional medicine, exchanging information on achievements in this area, ensuring the integration of traditional medicine methods into national health systems, in particular in the field of prevention and treatment of infectious and non-communicable diseases. 

In addition, the parties exchanged views on the possibilities of using traditional medicine methods in the field of reproductive health and pediatrics, creating a system for training, retraining and advanced training of specialists, conducting research in this area, accrediting specialists and developing general principles for ensuring the safety of services.

The forum also included bilateral negotiations between the delegations.

For information, the previous SCO Forum on Traditional Medicine was held on July 28-30, 2021 in the Chinese city of Nanchang, Jiangxi Province.
