On April 19, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Gayrat Fozilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland with residence in Helsinki Ilkka Räisänen.
Accepting his credentials, Deputy Head of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan congratulated the Ambassador with his appointment to a high and responsible post, wished him success.
During the conversation, the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations were discussed.
“The need to intensify economic diplomacy between Uzbekistan and Finland was noted, including through the organization of mutual trade missions, the implementation of joint investment projects, and the establishment of direct contacts between the business circles of the two countries. Mutual interest was expressed in further intensifying cooperation in the field of education.
An exchange of views took place on the opening of branches of Finnish universities in Uzbekistan and the introduction of programs for issuing “double diplomas”.
The schedule of upcoming joint events at various levels was also considered.
