The current Law “On Advertising” was adopted on December 25, 1998 and has been amended 15 times to date. In addition to the law, this field is regulated by 3 other departmental documents.

The new version of the law also includes the norms of this legislation and is reflected as a single document regulating advertising activities.

It was noted that some of the concepts that led to uncertainties in the application of the law have been clarified and supplemented with new ones.

Advertising in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan is demonstrated in the state language, in addition, its translation can be repeated in other languages.

The law defines the rights and obligations of the advertiser, producer and distributor of advertising.

Another important aspect of the law is that it is supplemented with new norms that protect minors from advertising, in particular from its negative effects, and limit the participation of minors in advertising.

In addition, the Law contains strict requirements for the advertising of medicines. It is now forbidden to use the presence of celebrities, medical staff or persons whose appearance resembles the appearance of doctors.

The law was approved by senators.
