4.4 billion soums allocated for repair of damaged irrigation and land reclamation facilities in Sardoba
A total of 4.4 billion soums will be allocated from the national budget for the construction and repair of irrigation and land reclamation facilities damaged as a result of the emergency situation at the Sardoba Reservoir.

Of this, 3 billion soums will be allocated to the Kuyi Syrdarya Irrigation Systems Department and the remaining 1.4 billion soums – to the reclamation expedition under the Department.
It should be recalled that on May 1, 2020, a major collapse occurred in the earth-filled dam of Sardoba Reservoir in Syrdarya region, causing extensive flooding. As a result, settlements and crops in Sardoba, Akaltin and Mirzaabad districts were severely damaged.
According to reports, at least 70,000 people were evacuated and more than 50 people were hospitalized due to the flooding.
