KOICA to provide $4.5 million grant to improve IT Park’s capacity in Uzbekistan
On December 16, during a visit to Seoul (South Korea), the Minister for ICT Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov met with the deputy president of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (of KOICA) Im Jeong Hee.

During the meeting, issues of expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of ICT, implementation of new projects to support startups, further development of cooperation with Korean technoparks on the development of the startup ecosystem and the ICT sector, including by improving incubation and acceleration programs, were discussed.
The management of KOICA and the Directorate of the Technological Park of Software Products and Information Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan (IT Park) held negotiations as part of the formation of the foundations for stable prosperity and increasing the potential of IT Park of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the KOICA management and the IT Park management signed a protocol of discussion on the project “Forming the foundations for stable development and increasing the potential of IT Park of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
In accordance with this, KOICA will provide a grant of $4.5 million.
