The US Ambassador Daniel Rosenblum has congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on the 29th anniversary of the adoption of the constitution.

“29 years ago today, Uzbekistan adopted its constitution to ensure the implementation of democratic reforms in the republic,” the ambassador said. “In every country, the constitution should be the main document to ensure the rights of citizens. Also, it should provide a basis for the functioning of institutions that can truly represent the interests of people.”

Daniel Rosenblum noted that the constitution should be proven not only on paper but also in practice.

“Today, your country is moving to a new page in its history. President Mirziyoyev stressed that the protection of the rights of every citizen is a priority. He also put forward the principle that “state should serve the people, not people serve the state.” If these principles are followed, there is no doubt that you will succeed in building a New Uzbekistan,” the diplomat noted.

He congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on Constitution Day.

“On behalf of the American people, I wish the people of Uzbekistan peace, health, and prosperity on Constitution Day,” the ambassador concluded.
