Uzbekistan had recently suspended the acceptance of applications for the certification of passenger vehicles under the Leapmotor brand. The decision was reportedly prompted by a defect found in the Leapmotor C16 model.
According to the inspection authority responsible for technical regulation oversight, the level of electromagnetic interference produced by the vehicle was found to exceed the permissible limit by 16 times.
In response, Leapmotor released an official statement addressing the issue.
“Earlier, reports emerged that a Leapmotor vehicle failed the electromagnetic compatibility test in Uzbekistan. In response, our company reached out to representatives in Uzbekistan. The vehicle tested was not sent by our company, and we have not been provided with clear information regarding the test conditions or the condition of the selected vehicle. We have objections to the test results. Our organization hopes to resolve the situation through a transparent and objective re-inspection,” the company stated.
